Agape Center for Environmental Education

We are set to go on our first field trip of the year to Agape Center of Environmental Education. We will be attending this field trip on Friday, October 6th. This will be a full day of engaging hands-on activities at the beautiful Camp Agape where we will focus on our science curriculum standards. We will leave school at 9:30 am and return by 1:30 pm. It is very important that your child arrives to school on time (the tardy bell is at 9:15) and eats a good breakfast before our trip.
We will eat lunch at 1:30 pm when we return back to school following the trip. Please complete the attached lunch form in order to let us know how your child will be eating lunch the day of our trip. You child can either order a lunch from the cafeteria or they can bring a lunch from home.
For our trip, we will need chaperones to accompany us. If you are an approved volunteer and you are willing and able to help us on our trip, please email your child’s teacher and let them know. As a chaperone, you will need to provide your own transportation and meet us at the field trip location or you may follow the bus from the school. As the field trip date approaches, your child’s teacher will be in contact with you regarding location, times, and responsibility details.
On the day of the trip, please check the weather! Agape is usually 5 degrees cooler than in the town/city. If it is cool or cold, dress your child in layers because we will be outside for the majority of our trip. Have your child wear clothing and sneakers because it could be muddy in some parts of the field trip.
The cost of the Agape Field Trip is $ 9.50. You have three payment options. You may send in cash, a check, or directly pay online. If you choose to send in cash, please make sure it is the exact amount (we will not be able to give change) and placed in a sealed envelope labeled with your child’s name & field trip money. If you choose to send in a check, please make sure it is written out to Morrisville Elementary and written for the exact amount. It is preferred that you pay online. This makes it easier for all involved. You can go to http://osp.osmsinc.com/wakenc/ to pay for the trip. When you get to this web page, click on Elementary Schools on the left side. Then find and click Morrisville Elementary. After finding our school, you will need to locate your child’s teacher and click on the Agape Center for Environmental Science to make a payment.
To ensure your child is ready to go on our first field trip of the year, please make sure you have completed the parent consent field trip form (this is the only permission slip you will need to fill out for the entire school year), the lunch form, and payment made Friday, September 15th We truly appreciate your efforts as we prepare for this trip. As always, please make sure you go over rules and expectations with your child prior to our trip. We want to ensure a safe and positive experience for all.
