Our school is partnering with St. Baldrick's. This is a wonderful organization that raises money to fight pediatric cancer. One of our own, Matt Tussey, a 4th grade teacher has agreed to get his head shaved if we raise $2,000! If you would like to donate please go to this website https://www.stbaldricks.org and search for MES Mustangs. You can also get more information on the head shaving event that will take place on March 18th at Glenwood South. Please let me know if you have any questions!
Our next and much anticipated final field trip will be here before we know it! We will be going to the North Carolina Zoo in Asheboro on April 4th. This trip will last longer than most due to the distance we will be traveling. We will be taking commercial buses for this trip. The buses will leave campus at 9:30 and will not return to MES until close to 5:00 that evening. Please make sure that you are at MES at promptly 5:00pm to pick up your child from the carpool area.
The cost of the trip is $32.50. In order to take care of the payment, you may send in cash, a check, or directly pay online. If you choose to send in cash, please make sure it is the exact amount (we will not be able to give change) and placed in a sealed envelope labeled with your child’s name & field trip money. If you choose to send in a check, please make sure it is written out to Morrisville Elementary and written for the exact amount. It is preferred that you pay online. This makes it easier for all involved. You can go to http://osp.osmsinc.com/wakenc/ to pay for the trip. When you get to this web page, click on Elementary Schools on the left side. Then find and click Morrisville Elementary. After finding our school, you will need to locate your child’s teacher and click on the Zoo to make a payment.
We will need many chaperones for this trip! Chaperones must be registered volunteers with the county, so make sure you are registered and cleared before volunteering to be a chaperone. Chaperones will need to pay for their admission into the zoo once we arrive at the zoo. Chaperones will have a small group of 2-3 students including their own child. A week prior to our trip, I will send home a very informative letter about chaperone responsibilities as well as the students who will be in your group. Upon arriving at the zoo, you will receive a timeline of our time at the zoo and other helpful details. To sign up to be a chaperone, please use the link to this sign up genius: http://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0b44a5a72ba1fc1-zoofield
Your time is valued and appreciate by many!
Thank you all for your efforts in taking care of the details of this exciting trip! We can’t wait!
